Original 16" x 20", oil on stretch canvas, completed 10/22/09. My newest painting of a Harris' hawk, based upon a photo I took this past summer at Hawk Creek. I decided to put it under a moonlit sky after I was well into the painting, and I'm quite happy with how it turned out.

African Augur Buzzard - Head Study
Original 16" x 20", oil on canvas, completed 12/4/08. My first painting of this particular bird of prey, which is the African equivelant of America's red tailed hawk. Based on one of the photos I took at Hawk Creek, summer 2008. Painted mostly under the influence of Robert Rich & Alio Die's 1997 collaboration, "Fissures", especially the track "The Road to Wirikuta".
