Mammals
:: Angel

Original 8" x 10", oil on stretch canvas, completed 12/3/09.  A commission for my coworker of her late dog, Angel.  I don't generally take commissions, as I prefer to paint birds of prey and foxes, but once in a while, I don't mind for a change of pace.

:: Baby Boy - Looking Forward

Original: 16" x 20" canvas board, completed 4/13/00. Based on a photo of Elise's quarter horse, Baby Boy, a very docile and photogenic horse.

:: Baby Boy - Profile

Original: 16" x 20" canvas board, completed 11/30/00. My second painting of Elise's horse. I like this one 10 times better than the first one. Entered at the 2001 Erie County Fair, but it didn't win anything.

:: Donkey

Original: 16" x 20" canvas board, completed 4/1/04. Done as a change of pace, based on a photo from Maryann's box. Entered at the 2004 Erie County Fair that year and it won first prize, my first blue ribbon for a painting!

:: Whitetail Deer

Original: 12" x 16" canvas board, completed 6/14/01. This painting is done from a photo I took of a whitetail deer in my backyard in December 2000. After this painting, I got sidetracked with other interests and didn't paint again until August 2003.

:: Abby

Original: 16" x 20" canvas board, completed 8/4/94. Abby was an Australian shepherd/collie mix I had from 1992 - 2003. I actually prefer to not paint my own animals anymore, because I put too much pressure on myself and I'm seldom ever satisfied with the end result. I decided it's less stressful to paint animals I don't have a direct emotional attachment to.
