Red Tailed Hawk |
| |
Original: 16" x 20" canvas board, completed 2/5/04. This was the second painting I did upon returning to oil painting in 2003. Based on a photo taken by my father at a birds of prey demonstration he attended. One of my personal favorite paintings.

"Silver Owl" |
| |
Original: 16" x 20" canvas board, completed 6/24/04. Based on a photo my father took at the same birds of prey show as the hawk, and named after the song "Silver Owl" by Australian Aboriginal rock band, Yothu Yindi, which kept going through my head every time I worked on this painting. Given the deep respect I have towards the Aboriginal culture and their belief that we are all one with the Earth, I thought it appropriate to name the painting after the song which inspired it.
"Silver lunar, light the way, light the night sky. Silver owl, fly away, fly the night sky." - Yothu Yindi 2000

Hawk |
| |
|
Original: 16" x 20" canvas board, completed 5/19/94. The subject of this painting was an actual stuffed hawk Maryann had at her old gallery. One of my earliest birds of prey paintings, I think its pretty good for it's time.
